Vanessa Fuentes, Austin's Mayor Pro Tem, proudly represents District 2 on the Austin City Council. Before stepping into office, Vanessa began her career as a nonprofit health advocate. Throughout her career, she has been a firm supporter for healthy communities.
Meals on Wheels Central Texas seeks to reduce local older adult hunger and social isolation. Vanessa's work as a community advocate aligns with our mission. We are pleased for her to join us as a new Community Champion.
On Wednesday, April 30, Vanessa visited our offices and Central Kitchen. We presented her with a Certificate of Recognition. She also got a behind-the-scenes look at our meal preparation. Each day 3,000 meals are made fresh to be delivered to our homebound neighbors.
