Meals on Wheels Central Texas is bracing for a surge in need amid the government shutdown and SNAP interruption. We are extremely grateful for H-E-B's generosity, which will help us provide 10,000 meals to older adults and individuals living with disabilities across the Central Texas region.

Every single day, we deliver 2,500 hot, medically tailored meals to Central Texas homebound neighbors. Though we cannot cover all the losses our neighbors may face the SNAP suspension, we cannot stand by and watch our neighbors go hungry.

At this moment, your generosity and your time will help us answer the growing number of calls for food assistance. Together, we can assure our homebound neighbors that they are not alone!

How Can You Help Our Homebound Neighbors
Below are several ways you can get involved in helping elderly and homebound Central Texans who may be bracing for increased food insecurity.

Point Them to Resources
Congregate Lunch Centers: Adults 60+ who can safely leave their homes may enjoy a free, nutritious, medically tailored lunch at any of our 17 Congregate Centers across Central Texas.

Home-Delivered Meals: Adults 65+ who are mostly homebound and cannot cook or grocery shop may be eligible for daily meal deliveries.

Central Texas Food Bank and Pantries: Help those in need find their nearest Central Texas Food Bank distribution site or food pantry for groceries and shelf-stable items. You can also help with transportation to access food assistance.

Donate
A one-time gift can help us reach more neighbors in need, meeting them where they are with a variety of life-enriching services.

You can also set up a recurring donation to provide a consistent lifeline for food assistance and other life-enriching services that help our homebound neighbors remain independent with dignity.

Volunteer
Your time is a valuable resource that allows us to save dollars on distribution, which we can funnel back into the life-enriching services that directly support our neighbors. Please sign up to volunteer today.
