For nearly two decades, TMF Health Quality Institute has stood alongside Meals on Wheels Central Texas as a steadfast partner in supporting older adults across our community. As a long-time corporate supporter and organization whose employees regularly volunteer on our delivery routes, TMF has played a meaningful role in ensuring that homebound older adults receive not only nutritious meals but also the connection and care they deserve. It is for this reason, and so many more, that we are honored to celebrate TMF as our inaugural Mission Ambassador.

TMF’s deep commitment to the well-being of older adults makes this partnership especially powerful. “TMF Health Quality Institute focuses on improving the quality of health care with a core focus on the senior population,” Emilie Fennell, the director of communications and external relations, shared. “We are inspired by the work that Meals on Wheels does to combat hunger and isolation in the same population. Our missions align and support each other.”

Over the years, TMF has not only given generously but has also shown up! TMF staff have consistently volunteered on our delivery routes, creating relationships with clients and brightening days with one friendly knock at a time. One moment that stands out for Emilie happened during the pandemic, when they joined our bulk meal delivery efforts. “In a time when everyone was isolated from each other, it brought me joy to be able to do something to connect with others.” She continued to share, “At each delivery, I saw how important not only the food was, but the human interaction.”

This combination of generosity and service is what makes TMF such a powerful Mission Ambassador. Their encouragement for anyone considering getting involved is simple and heartfelt: “Volunteering enables you to make a tangible difference in the community. You aren’t just delivering food. You are providing a connection for people who are homebound. You might be the only person they see all day, and a friendly interaction of caring can make all of the difference to someone.”

As we look toward Giving Tuesday, TMF’s example reminds us that giving takes many forms. It doesn't take years of involvement to make a difference—it just takes one moment of care, one meal delivery, or one gift made with intention.

We invite you to join TMF in supporting our neighbors! Sign up to volunteer, make a donation, or simply share why Meals on Wheels Central Texas matters to you. However you choose to give, you make a difference. Together, we deliver so much More Than A Meal. We deliver care, connection, and community—and we are grateful to have partners like TMF lighting the way.
